Amplus Energy

Using a clever mix of advanced engineering and hybrid technology, Amplus are developing smart vessels geared to the North Sea’s hostile waters.

Amplus originally began life as Vampire Production in 2008. However, in the midst of the economic recession the company fell victim to the austerity measures enforced upon lending. The consequences of this were significant for the company, who found themselves unable to get their secured project off the ground. As a result, it was temporarily mothballed in order to focus on other projects until the climate returned to favourable conditions.

Four years later, in 2012, I stepped in. Following a review of the existing marketing material, I recommended that the founding partners consider a name change, to one that had less-overt connotations and was more in keeping with their industry and its renewed economic optimism. In brief, a name that spelt out growth and prosperity, and enabled the company to drive forwards unshackled.

Hence, Amplus was born, a latin name meaning an abundance of energy. This was paired with a new tagline and revised company message that placed Amplus’s strengths at the forefront of their marketing. In addition, an outpour of striking graphics, emphasising the company’s positive outlook and renewed future, helped to reinvigorate the brand, reinforced by positive responses from clients and increased investor interest.
